Young writers, this one’s for you:
The Legacy Junior Contests are a trio of creative challenges designed just for students ages 7 to 13 — perfect for curious minds, playful imaginations, and kids who have a story to tell. Whether you're dreaming up a flying backpack, a talking cat, or a poem about a place that doesn’t exist, these contests are your stage.
🌪️ The Roald Dahl Mischief & Magic Challenge is for tricksters and daydreamers. Write a short story where something small turns strange — and one adult definitely doesn’t believe it.
🐾 The E.B. White Animal Perspective Contest invites you to step inside the mind of a creature. Whether it's a fox in the city or a spider in a classroom, tell a story from an animal’s point of view.
🎈 The Shel Silverstein Imagination Parade is for pure fun. Write a silly poem, make up a creature, invent a rule, or let your nonsense shine.
Each contest is short, creative, and full of freedom. They're a perfect summer break project, a way to sharpen writing skills for future school applications, and a chance to win a real award with global recognition.
Winning is awesome. But so is finishing something you’re proud of. So pick a prompt, get weird, and let your words lead the way.
Remaining 2025 Deadlines: June 30, September 30, December 31.
