From now until September 30, 2025, students around the world are invited to submit their original writing to any of our 23 author-inspired contests—including 19 Legacy Contests for ages 13+ and 4 Junior Contests designed for younger writers.
Whether you’re drawn to the eerie world of Edgar Allan Poe, the romantic drama of Jane Austen, the philosophical puzzles of Borges, or the playful imagination of E.B. White, Legacy has a contest for every voice, genre, and creative spark.

Why Enter?
Global Recognition: Awards are open to students worldwide—entries are judged blind by a panel of international educators and writers.
Earn Distinctions: Winners receive Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention awards, digital certificates, and publication in the Legacy Anthology.
Boost Your Portfolio: Winning work is also forwarded to external youth journals, magazines, and other contests—at no cost to you.
One Page, One Chance: Most contests ask for 700–1,000 words (Junior Contests: 300–600 words), so it’s a manageable, meaningful way to challenge yourself and grow your craft.
